Yosemite National Park

We welcomed Half Dome with the tourist double peace sign.  Classy.

El Capitan continued to amaze us every day.  No, that is not a fake cloud back drop.
Needless to say, there is a lot of photography from such an inspiring place.  Follow this link to another 28 Photos of Yosemite from Friel Photography

Thanks to Josh's recommendation, we ended up at Cherry Lake for a night.  It's about an hour outside of the park.  Best campsite yet.

Our campsite was about 30 miles outside the park with another hour of switchback driving .  We had the whole lake to ourselves.

Yosemite gave us some great hiking to explore.  We covered about 30 miles in 2 days.  Our favorite of the two was a short (5mile) and painful (3,100ft) climb up to the scenic overlook of Glacier Point.  This photo is the payoff shot, we ascended from the valley floor on the bottom of the shot.

We should could have stayed another week in this beautiful valley, but the weather made a clear decision for us with a heavy sleet and hail storm overnight and 15 inches of snow falling that day, it was time to go.
Cold Mamba

Sad tent
Frozen and toting wet gear, we limp into the Bay Area.  More rain on the horizon we stay at our first hotel, I mean motel, I mean shit box.  The Budget Inn supplied us with just enough space for drying the gear.  After 2 and half weeks in the car and tent, a dingy bed was spectacular.
